Upon high school graduation, students have the choice to enroll in college, train for a career and/or become an entrepreneur. UEC supports high school graduates as they progress down one of these pathways with training, scholarships and grants.

Scholarships

UEC works alongside Compton residents, city officials, organizations and businesses to develop interdependent neighborhoods by training and empowering people to transform their communities.

  • Graduate High School in 2024

  • Attend High School in Compton

  • Volunteer in Compton

Compton Youth Career Pathways

A workforce development program providing job, career and trade development for youth ages 14-24 through job shadowing, community service and paid internships.

Program Highlights:

  • Career Exploration Workshops

  • Resume Building & Interview Skills

  • Job Shadowing & Paid Internships

  • Interactive Learning Sessions

ENTREPRENEURSHIP GRANTS

Entrepreneurship Grants are available for students who live in Compton, have graduated from a Compton high school or have volunteered in the City of Compton. High school students who have volunteered with UEC have priority throughout the application process. Applicants are required to attend an informational meeting and subsequent entrepreneurship training about the small business they are interested in starting.
